As border residents, the core of our values is the belief that power belongs to the People. We all have a voice in shaping our nation, and our government should reflect that—centering our families and communities over the interests of the wealthy few. But today, our democracy is under threat, where billionaires have taken control of our government and are rigging it in their favor—where we pay more and they pay far less. Billionaires are robbing us of our future—paying less while our families and neighbors struggle to pay sky-high prices for eggs, medications and rent. Trump's proposed budget is taking away essential services like Medicaid, SNAP (food assistance), and healthcare (under ACA) that more than 3 million border residents depend on, all to give greedy billionaires and corporations a $4 trillion tax break.
These billionaires are not just hoarding wealth—they are robbing millions of border community members of our futures. They want to make us poorer, sicker, and weaker, so they can line their pockets with our money meant for essential programs. The mega-rich are trying to strip us of our right to live and thrive, but we’re not going to let them get away with it. Now, Trump is asking Congress for even more money to tear apart our families, our communities, and our futures, all while cutting tax breaks for his billionaire friends. But We the People ARE the power—and we can shut down this money grab!
The greed of billionaires and corporations is threatening the very fabric of our democracy. It’s time to rise up and say it loud: We the People, Not the Billionaires! Together, we have the power to demand justice, fight back, and reclaim what’s rightfully ours. The arc of history bends toward justice—and we the people are the ones who will bend it back toward what’s good, right, and fair.
We have a right to a future lived in dignity, where our needs, not those of billionaires, are centered and heard. On average, more than 100,000 residents in each congressional district rely on Medicaid and could be impacted in the border region.
