Harmful, deadly and wasteful border wall doesn’t make us safer, but it does destroy wildlife and sacred lands, lead to horrific disappearances and deaths, and wastes billions of taxpayer dollars. Now, the current administration has used the COVID-19 pandemic to push forward on border wall construction, waving critical environmental protections while disregarding Covid-19 social distancing guidelines. 

Ten environmental and border advocacy organizations, including the Southern Border Communities Coalition, sent a letter to U.S. Border Patrol Environmental Chief Paul Enriquez and U.S. Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott requesting the Department of Homeland Security cease border wall construction in Arizona’s Cochise, Pima and Santa Cruz counties until it can comply with existing laws, and allow for meaningful public comment.
