WHAT:
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Congressional Progressive Caucus, and Congressional Border Caucus will host a forum tomorrow featuring speakers discussing the realities of life in border communities under the Trump Administration.
The forum will highlight policies that promote community safety and security, and do not disrupt economic activity or further militarize the border — such as adding additional agents to the country’s largest law enforcement agency, Customs and Border Protection(CBP), which has a troubling track record of abusive conduct.
As Dreamer-related legislative negotiations heat up, the speakers will share how and why further border-enforcement spending on proposals like building a wall and hiring more Border Patrol agents would jeopardize the quality of life for border families, including Border Dreamers. Trading Dreamers’ protections for more border militarization is a false, dangerous choice.
The event will be live-streamed here: https://www.facebook.com/congressional.hispanic.caucus/videos/10155258682063261/
