DHS has long had dangerous border-related powers that Trump is now using to deploy agents like Border Patrol Tactical Units (BORTAC) units and special ICE agents throughout the United States, especially in sanctuary cities. Once limited to southern border communities, these agents are now headed to cities all over the country, in a dangerous expansion of federal policing powers that bypass constitutional protections and undermine our very democracy.
