“Since its inception, SBCC has amplified the voices of southern border communities from San Diego to Brownsville and taken our just fight for dignity and justice to the Nation’s capitol by urging policy makers to implement common-sense accountability and oversight mechanisms to reform the out-of-control border enforcement regime.
SBCC is committed to continue to uplift those who have been affected by border abuse and to strengthen our resolve to revitalize and not militarize southern border communities.

Christian is the director of the Southern Border Communities Coalition and also serves as the Human Rights Director of Alliance San Diego, a community empowerment organization that builds coalitions to promote justice and social change.

Since 1994 Christian has been active on issues relating to US immigration policy and its impact on southern border communities. He has presented in international and national gatherings on the state of human rights in the US-Mexico Border. Mr. Ramirez is a nationally and internationally recognized spokesperson on immigration and border enforcement issues.

Christian has been widely interviewed and published by the Associated Press, Univision, Telemundo, CNN, Reuters, CBS, ABC, NBC, NPR, among others.
